I've been stuck watching Rainbow Bright lately with my toddler. We only have a couple of episodes but as I watch it over and over I can't seem to get Murky's awesome radio out of my head. Check this thing out.
The bright things on the front/top are lights that flash when someone is transmitting. I have to re-create this. My basic idea is to either find or make the box. For the lights I can use two incandescent tube lights. I might skip the antenna. I have an old CB handset that would work great on this project. I'm not sure what the meters on the front are supposed to be but they look cool. I could have one easily be the signal strength. Maybe both? On the far right it appears there is a dial to select frequency. What I am thinking of doing is basically just re-housing a toy voice changer. I'd add a speaker to the side of the box and an audio out jack as well.
No plans to start construction just yet but this one has potential.
